MILONAs

A Cretan family
Three generations
One shared spirit

Michalis.jpg

Roots in the land. Heart in the village. A story from Crete.

Welcome to MILONAS, the name our family has been known under in Kamilari for decades.
What began with our parents, Georgia and Michalis, farmers with a mill and a dream, grew into a long tradition of hospitality, good food, hard work, and warm human connections.

From the fields of the Messara plain to the tables of the famous Milonas Taverna — and now to new villas, homes, olive oil groves and local businesses — our family continues to work together, each in our own path, but always with the same values: care, quality, generosity and respect for tradition.

In 2022, after 37 beautiful years, the Milonas Taverna closed its doors.

But its spirit lives on — in the food we cook at home, in the hospitality we offer in our villas and apartments, in our olive oil production, and in the new projects led by the next generation.

Today, Georgia and Michalis’ grandchildren are already stepping forward, carrying our family story into the future — and the fourth generation is growing up among us.

We invite you to discover each branch of our family through the four brothers:

Manolis:

Plaka Studios & the new Milonas Home, created from the old taverna.

Vangelis:

Cozy Houses — charming village rentals in the heart of Kamilari.

Alekos:

The family Supermarket with Marina — and the new Milonas Family Restaurant & Café run by their children Georgia and Michalis, together with Georgia’s husband Kostis.

Giorgos:

SAFIkala Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the family farm, authentic Cretan production — and the SAFIkala House and Apartment Giorgos he rents in the village.

Wherever you click next, you will meet a piece of our family — past, present, and future.

Thank you for visiting – and welcome to the extended Milonas family!
